The purpose of this site is to offer resources for Riverside Brookfield High School students who are interested in publishing their creative writing. This site does not focus on self-publishing avenues (such as blogging) or on student writing contests (if you are interested in contest opportunities, check out the Additional Resources page). Instead, the resources provided here are available to help young writers find credible and established places to publish their work.

When you are submitting your work, you may want to ask yourself some of the following questions:

     1. Who will be publishing my piece, and why are they the best publisher for it?
     2. Who is the target audience for my piece, and how does the publisher market to this audience?
     3. How much competition will my piece face, and how can I improve my piece?
     4. Does my piece meet the specific publishing requirements outlined by the organization?

Note: Credible publishing companies and literary agents will never ask you to pay for your work to be reviewed or published. Beware of anyone who asks you to do this.
